For our Media Advocacy project we decided to promote the revival of the Trimet Night Bus, known as the Owl Bus. We picked this because a night bus would enable everyone a safe way home at night. Whether your working a night shift, or maybe coming home a little too tipsy for driving. Whatever it be, a Trimet Night Bus would ensure a safe way home and should be brought back.
I didn't think this petition we started would get more than 20 signatures, but we ended up with 73! This project was a nice way to see that it's as simple as starting a small petition to make your cause known, and that it could eventually lead to more than just some signatures. |

Artist Statement: For this project I took photographs of businesses with advertisements on them. After I took the photos I went in on photoshop a erased or whited out the ads on the buildings. We have become so accustom to these ads being on buildings that they look bare or strange without them there. It gives a small look into what our city could look like if we got rid of outdoor ads like São Paulo, Brazil did in 2006. |
